If you are planning on going on a diet, one tool that should not be dismissed is water. Water is not only one of the most essential substances that your body needs, but a great tool to help you lose weight. Here are some tips.
Fill Up with Water
No matter what diet you are on, water should play a major part in it. By drinking water, you not only can satisfy your hunger due to a full stomach, but can help with digestion and remove lots of waste and potentially harmful toxins. By drinking lots of water (at least 8- 8 ounce glasses per day), you can flush out your system and lose weight in the process.
Choose Water Over Other Beverages
There are literally dozens of beverages available- just walk into any convenience store. However, if you are on a diet, your first choice should be bottled water. Why? Its simple, bottled water doesn’t contain any calories, sugars, artificial sweeteners or other dubious chemicals. It should be noted that while caffeine is used by many dieters as a diuretic, it causes one to become dehydrated and uncomfortable- a result that many dieters don’t want to experience. Dieting is about feeling and eating healthy and it should encompass all substances you consume, not just the ones that you eat.
By choosing water over other types of beverages, you can easily cut out 300 to 600 calories each and everyday. The reason being is that most beverages are full of empty calories. For instance, soda can contain as much as 150 calories per can and many individuals drink more than just one can each day.
Water Is Perfect for Working Out
Most people that diet also increase their activity by exercising several times per week. While many dieters think they need to rely on energy drinks or sport drinks to workout at a high level, you should know that water can easily satisfy all your needs. Water is not only essential to your body, contains zero calories and helps fill you up, but it also tastes great and is extremely refreshing. So no matter what your activity level is, you can always rely on water to help keep you going.
